Biography

Alexa Fraser is multi-disciplinary artist from St.Catharines, Ontario. With a B.Des in Fashion Design from Toronto Metropolitan University (2006), Alexa has worked as a Technical Designer for Abercrombie and Fitch Co. in Columbus, Ohio (2006-2008), in the Tailoring Department at the Shaw Festival (2014 and 2015 seasons) and as the Head of Wardrobe for Carousel Players for nine seasons (2015-2024). Alexa has displayed textile and installation art in many solo and group exhibits, including all four gallery spaces at the Niagara Artists Centre, the In the Soil Arts Festival, Niagara Falls Night of Art, Woodstock Art Gallery and the Center for Puppetry Arts in Atlanta, GA. She designs and builds puppets and costumes for theatre companies including Brock University, Carousel Players, Guilty by Association, the Foster Festival, Stolen Theatre Collective and Yellow Door Theatre Project, and teaches textile art and puppet making workshops and camps. Alexa was delighted to start teaching Wardrobe, Costume Design, Props and Puppets at Brock University’s Department of Dramatic Arts in 2023. www.alexafraser.ca
