Biography
Meet Melanie, your School Manager at the Bravo Academy for the Performing Arts and life-long theatre geek. She has spent her career supporting artists and arts organisations in creating audience experiences that inspire and uplift their communities
Melanie holds a B.F.A. Honours in Performance Production from Toronto Metropolitan University and is a stage manager, production manager, virtual event manager, and arts administrator. She brings a wealth of experience to the table, spanning theatre, dance, corporate events, and outdoor arts festivals. All performed equally in both English and French.
With over 10 years of stage management experience, her credits include: the 2015 PanAm Games and ParapanAm Games ceremonies, the 2017 Invictus Games ceremonies, Pride Toronto, the Toronto District School Board, the Toronto International Film Festival, Théâtre français de Toronto, Théâtre du Nouvel-Ontario, Théâtre la Catapulte, BoucharDanse, Dusk Dances, Sheatre, and Perchance Theatre.
Many of Melanie’s favourite projects in her career have allowed her to collaborate with students and young people. Whether it be working with student volunteers during province-wide school tours or stage managing student showcases, she has always loved the enthusiasm and creativity of young artists.
Melanie’s community loves her because of her resourcefulness, optimism, and unwavering commitment to helping build fair and inclusive spaces.
