Have you always wondered what it would feel like to be in a musical?
Then this is the perfect camp for you!
Have fun learning and performing in a musical, complete with costumes, sets, and props! Students receive instruction from our fabulous and experienced teaching artists in singing, acting, and dancing, and on the last day students will perform in a musical production for friends and family!
Whether you’re an experienced performer, or simply trying it for the first time, this camp is a fun and exciting way to spend your Summer!

NORTH YORK (BRAVO ACADEMY)
session DESCRIPTIONS
Broadway Bound (Ages 7-12)
Take the stage and develop your musical theatre performance skills in this one-week session. Learn choreography, iconic musical theatre songs, rehearse scenes, and perform numbers from smash-hit musicals on the final day. Make friends, build confidence, and develop your performance skills at Broadway Bound this summer!

Theatre Design Camp (Ages 9-13)
Learn what it’s like behind the scenes in this new Theatre Design Camp, led by Bravo Academy’s imaginative and resourceful scenic designer Meredith Wolting. Be part of building set pieces, costumes, puppets, and more! You’ll create scenic elements for Finding Nemo KIDS and see firsthand how the craft and creativity of theatre design can bring the underwater world to life on stage!

Finding Nemo Kids (Ages 7-12)
Music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, book adapted by Lindsay Anderson
In our two-week session, students will learn scenes, songs, and choreography to work towards a production of Disney’s Finding Nemo Kids. When his son Nemo is captured, Marlin must face his fears beyond his anemone home and set off on an epic adventure across the ocean. Students will perform in a final fully-staged and costumed performance in our studio theatre.

The Magic of Disney (Ages 4-6)
Enter the world of your favourite Disney musicals and characters in this one-week session. Learn choreography, iconic songs, rehearse scenes, and perform numbers from beloved Disney shows. Make friends, build confidence, and develop your performance skills at this Magic of Disney Camp this summer! Students will perform in a final fully-staged and costumed performance in our studio theatre.

Pop Starz (Ages 7-10 & 11-13)
Live out your pop star dreams learning and performing your favourite songs from artists like Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber and more…! Pop Starz Camp participants will develop skills of pop vocal technique, mic technique, choreography and stage presence, as well as explore different pop styles and art projects. A final performance will be held on the last day of camp for families to attend in our studio theatre.

Acting Camp (Ages 7-10 & 11-13)
Take the stage and bring characters to life in our Acting Camp! By experimenting and exploring scene studies, monologues, and improvisation, participants will collaborate as a team and develop confidence. Through theatre exercises and activities, students will build the skills of characterization, improvisation, diction, communication and stage presence. A final performance will be held on the last day of camp for families to attend in our studio theatre.

Teen Broadway Bootcamp (Ages 13-17)
This summer, join us for our Teen Broadway Bootcamp! This week-long program invites participants to develop and hone their musical theatre performance skills, and perform numbers from favourite musicals! Participants will work on their ability to perform solo and in an ensemble, and will also learn key audition skills. Students will work on scene work, monologues, group numbers and solo songs. Small class size ensures all students get solo experience and personalized feedback. A great program for those looking to strengthen their musical theatre and audition skills, that will culminate in a final performance in our studio theatre.

Teen Musical Theatre Intensive (Grades 9-12)
The Teen New Musical Theatre Intensive (NMTI) is a unique and specialized week-long program, designed for young artists looking to develop and challenge their musical theatre skills and be part of collaborating and developing new musical theatre material. This year artists will have the rare opportunity to be part of the development of a new musical theatre songbook designed for Teens. Artists will work alongside industry professionals on new challenging age-appropriate repertoire and will work towards a final workshop performance. This is an incredible opportunity for young artists!
Admission via audition (applicants accepted on a rolling basis until all spots are filled)
Audition Requirements:
2 Contrasting Musical Theatre Pieces (32 bars)
*One must be a contemporary musical theatre piece

Youth Musical Theatre Intensive (Grades 5-8)
The Youth New Musical Theatre Intensive (NMTI) is an innovative and specialized week-long program, designed for young performers with a variety of experience looking to develop and challenge their skills and be part of collaborating and developing new musical theatre material. This summer artists will be working on the development and workshop of a new Canadian musical led by wonderful teaching artists and local industry writers. Class size is limited to 16 as per the casting requirements of this new musical and all artists will be cast in this new musical in development and a final workshop performance will be held at the end of the week. This is a rare opportunity for young artists and this program fills very quickly!

a Day in the life!
9 AM
Welcome! Get ready for the day with a physical and vocal Warm up! Then we dive into rehearsals!
10:30 AM
Snack break and game time at the park! Then back inside for rehearsals then outdoor lunch!
1 PM
After lunch, we're back to work, staging our show and rehearsing our scenes for our final production on the last day.
3 PM
We bust out craft supplies to work on props, costumes, and set pieces to bring each performer's artistic vision to life!
